The Town of Rocanville has been working hard with engineers to find ways to alleviate the flooding on the east end of Robin Avenue. One of the proposed methods is the creation of a retention pond on the east side against the mine road. Council was also planning on pumping the excess water to the golf course to top up their dugout to assist with irrigation. Due to the pond’s depth this area will need to be fenced so the idea of an off-leash dog park was suggested along with walking trails to and from this area.
We are now able to provide draft drawings and we are requesting ratepayer input into the proposed idea put before council. The Dog Park will include picnic tables and benches, garbage cans and recycling bins, there will be doggy stations and a large open area for dogs to run. The walking trail will also have benches and a picnic area.
We have included a plan of the retention pond and dog park along with ideas for the walking trails.
We are asking for the public’s comments on this proposal and if you wish to see a large copy of the proposal please stop by the Town Office, otherwise please e-mail your comments to: firstname.lastname@example.org
Council will vote on this proposal on the 21st of April, 2021.
